My name is Gabi Bernard. My hobbies include web designing and pulling the lint off dryer screens. I don't know what I'm doing with my life, but I pretend I do by attending a top university and showing up to work and stuff. This blog is where I express my confusion over things that don't matter and post art stuff that may or may not be okay-looking,

New Theme - Survival Game

I decided to make a third version of my Bleedin’ Gums Murphy theme with Mirai Nikki’s Gasai Yuno as the focal point. Unlike the original versions, this theme has a fancy pants accent font, a subtle background pattern, and optional grayscale images. Please note that these screenshots do not do the sidebar gif justice. View the live preview to see it in action.

New Theme - Bleedin’ Gums Murphy

I realize that this is an inopportune time to showcase a new theme, but it’s been so long since I made one that I couldn’t hold it in. Because this is such an inopportune times, apologies in advance if you see this post again tomorrow. But without further ado, for the first time since September, I present to you two new themes! I named it Bleedin’ Gums Murphy because the points remind me of teeth, and for some reason that’s the first thing that came to mind. It’s not particularly fitting. But whatever.

New Theme - BMO 1.0

I wanted to make a BMO version of my Cornered 2.0 theme since the shape of the layout reminds me of the shape of BMO…sorta. I plan to make a black and white version using a different theme format and a gif from BMO Noire soon, so stay tuned for that!

New Theme - Cornered 2.0

I made the original Cornered theme before I learned much about customizable features, so I decided to give it an update. This version is much cleaner and much more customizable, but the old version will remain up just in case anyone prefers it.

New Theme - I’m Curious!

I don’t normally attempt the whole “soft and pretty” thing, but I thought I’d give it a try with my new Rectangles! theme as the base. The gif is from the first five seconds of the first episode of Hyouka, hence the title. But since it’s just a flower, non-fans could use it too.

New Theme - Rectangles!

These themes don’t have as many color options as my previous themes for various reasons, but I think the subtle gray color schemes will suit many of you. I will probably be making colored-but-monochromatic versions with more elegant fonts within the next few days, so keep your eyes peeled for those.

New Theme - Bubba

I have been a lean, mean, theme-making machine lately. Even though the colors and images are fully customizable, I made two versions for those of you who want a theme that’s ready to go. The second version was my attempt at manliness since I couldn’t help but put pink in the first version. But CMYK is classic, c’mon.

New Themes - Sting and Ryuk

Now that I have my anime blog, I figure making anime-themed alternatives for my basic themes might be a good way to reach a wider audience. Maybe. I don’t know. IT’S WORTH A SHOT.

UPDATES: New Theme - Fair and Square

As usual, there was an error with the code when I posted the theme. I never uploaded the new code, so anyone who tried to use the theme ended up with the old version. Whoops. Someday I will get this right on the first try. The following links ARE correct.

Theme updates!

Of course, I wouldn’t be Gabi if I didn’t finalize a theme when there’s an error in the code. Sadly, I put the block for photosets in twice. The fix was simple enough, but the Tumblr Theme Garden is poop so the one-click install won’t work until they review the entire theme. So for now, the code will have to be placed manually.

Instructions can be found on the preview page. The theme includes over 20 customizable elements, so you can easily change the colors to your liking. You can view an alternate color scheme on my profile.

I realized that the set-up of my two most recent themes is similar to the set-up of one of my favorite layouts from the Myspace days, so I cleaned that ancient puppy up and converted it for Tumblr.

Vector and coding and everything by me. Go nuts.

I made a darker version of my Swell theme for those of you who prefer to keep your blog more somber. I mean, I still had to use pink because designs by Gabi without pink are like shiny Pokemon. A.K.A. they exist but you don’t see them very often. But it is grey therefore it is dark.

Yes, I really made a new theme. A good one. Well, I mean, I added more elements (styled answer posts, tags, album covers) this time around, which I think elevates it above my other designs. The heart border looks a little weird with my profile picture, but it should look spiff with most images.

I placed it on my own blog, but I can’t seem to get the cufon to work with endless scrolling. So…watch out for that if you use it. I still can’t decide on which element I would prefer.
